Planning Board mulls 23 Orchard innovation hub, defers planner vote

NJ MONTGOMERY — Planning Board postpones vote on 23 Orchard innovation hub consultant. Planning Director Lori Savron presented a redevelopment proposal to transform the long-vacant office building on 23 Orchard Road into an Innovation Center with luxury apartments. Vice Chair Arun Mani presided over extensive public comment and Board discussion focused on affordable housing requirements, environmental protections particularly stream corridor preservation, and tenant recruitment strategies.

The Board expressed support for the innovation hub concept but unanimously postponed a vote on hiring Clarke Caton Hintz to prepare the redevelopment plan, with the item continuing to a future meeting.
