NJ MONTGOMERY — Montgomery Township Committee adopts $34.7 million budget with 3.49 percent property tax increase. The Committee unanimously approved the 2026 budget, generating more than $1.1 million in additional revenue while keeping the municipal portion at 13.75 percent of total property taxes. Mayor Neena Singh emphasized the town's ongoing grant pursuit, noting $3.5 million secured in 2025 and nearly $1.9 million to date for 2026, with health insurance savings of $900,000 through employee opt-outs.
The Committee also unanimously approved concurrent ordinances authorizing $3,253,300 in capital improvements and $300,000 in sewer system upgrades, increased sewer capacity charges by 7.1 percent, and reappointed Lisa Fania as Municipal Clerk with tenure.
