Committee approves $400,000 Harlingen sewer project funding

NJ MONTGOMERY — Montgomery approves $400,000 for Harlingen sewer improvements. The Township Committee unanimously authorized reallocation of unused bond proceeds from a 2015 ordinance to finance capital improvements including a gravity sewer through the Department of Public Works yard, a sewer line to the EMS building, and partial contribution toward upsizing the pump station, all under Ordinance 26-1769. In separate actions, the committee unanimously introduced a filming ordinance scheduled for public hearing February 19 and approved submission of a $75,000 grant application to the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for township park improvements, including installation of a cricket pitch at Van Horne Park.
The committee also recognized retiring Police Department employee Deborah Axtt for more than 30 years of service.
