Commission backs Monarch Pledge, reviews West Street development

Environmental Commission · Meeting of March 3, 2026

NJ MONTGOMERY — The Environmental Commission endorsed the Mayor's Monarch Pledge and reviewed a West Street development project. The Commission recommended that Mayor Singh sign the National Wildlife Federation's Mayor's Monarch Pledge, committing the township to pollinator-conservation actions, with support to be presented at the March 19 Township Committee meeting. The Commission also recommended that owners of a proposed West Street home plant at least 40 replacement trees to offset clearing required for the development.

Recent grant awards include $288,000 for Lower Millstone River watershed management, $537,522 for Orchard Road sidewalk and bike-lane improvements, and $850,000 for Otto Kaufman Park upgrades.
